Mutineers on board must be unmasked! The have toppled the booty chest to sabotage the distribution of the booty; pirates try to refill it. You are secretly assigned a role – pirate or mutineer – and the winner is the faction that throws enough opponents overboard OR fills the chest sufficiently or sabotages this. In a turn you either play a face-down booty card and name its value, you may lie. Or you play an open action card for its effect – plank, binoculars, well-rid, empty pockets or marvelous catch; the actions relate to players or looking at cards or discarding/receiving cards. During the game you share information, true or false, discuss and question to identify mutineers. If a pirate identifies themselves and announces that the chest is sufficiently full, the pirate faction wins if they are correct. If all mutineers have gone overboard, the pirates win. When there are equal numbers of pirates and mutineers on board or the draw pile is empty, the mutineers win.
